Bret Harte Performing Arts Center |
| Cost: $5.4 Million (14,000 square
feet) |
Angels Camp, CA |
|
| |
|
In 1994, a major fire destroyed the
original 1927 structure deeming design and total replacement of
the building. The insurance stipulated replacement as original
which allowed for the current new building and site improvements
at an overall cost of $5.4 million dollars which was completed
in March 2002.
One of the main goals of this
project was to maintain the integrity of the historical 1927
building. The exterior of the building presents a new image for
the campus, while the lobby incorporates classical architectural
features from the original design. Located in Angels Camp on
Highway 49, this facility with classical features, serves as a
community landmark.
The new, 14,000 square foot, state of the
art facility includes: a 350 seat theater, 60 ft stage with a
full fly space, dressing rooms, control booth, lobby with
restrooms and a full service kitchen.
Bret Harte has been a client of ASAi for approximately 20 years.
Projects include two modernizations at Bret Harte and a
modernization project at Vallecito High School. ASAi
assisted with the design of the new athletic fields and student
parking. Rough grading and the parking lot have been
