Bret Harte Union School

New Classroom Wing and Central Plan for Bret Harte Union High School District

Project Description: This project placed four new classrooms and one new central plant on the Upper Campus of Bret Harte Union High School. The classrooms and central plant were designed to be compatible with the nearby Performing Arts Building, which was constructed at the same time. The new classroom wing and central plant were completed in 2001 at an overall cost of $2.4 million for the new building and site improvements.

The Classroom Wing includes four new standard classrooms that are fully wired for modern technology. The Central Plant includes boilers, a chiller and cooling tower that heat and cool hydronic water for the heating and cooling equipment in the New Classroom Wing, the new Performing Arts Building, and the future Multipurpose Building Addition. The boilers were sized to accommodate the heating equipment upgrades in the nearby gymnasium.

Location: Hwy 4/49 Main Street in Angels Camp, CA

Funded in part by the State of California through the School Facility Program and by the Bret Harte Union High School District.
