Over the course of his career, he has been responsible for design and construction of a wide variety of projects, including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, schools, recreation facilities, medical clinics, fire stations, retail, commercial and industrial complexes, office buildings, private and multi-family residences. Along with a broad construction and design background, he has also developed strong skills in strategic planning, facility master planning and feasibility studies. His professional interests are directly related to his belief that projects should be operationally cognizant and result in user-friendly structures, which are economically feasible to build and maintain. Invited speaker at small school district conferences, rural healthcare conferences, National Healthcare Design Symposium, and National Modular Design Conference.
Andy Flies – Senior Project Architect – Education aflies@asai.us
At Aspen Street, Andy supervises the education team and is responsible for the overall management and coordination of school related projects including new construction and modernization projects for elementary and high school campuses, reconfiguration of space, relocatable classroom projects, sports fields and facilities, gymnasiums, kitchens, multipurpose rooms and performing arts facilities. While Andy typically manages project delivery for the client, his experience working with district staff and his understanding of construction procedures, agency approval processes and funding mechanisms allows him to better serve the needs of all ASAi’s education clients.
Tou Shong Lee – Senior Project Architect – Healthcare tlee@asai.us
For the past twenty years, Tou Shong Lee has focused on rural healthcare facilities. In his fourteen years at Aspen Street Architects, Tou Shong has been responsible for the master planning, design, construction documentation, agency approvals and project management for rural healthcare clinics, hospitals and medical office buildings. Aspen Street Architect’s’ healthcare clients benefit from Tou Shong’s extensive knowledge of state and building codes and with federal construction standards and OSHPD processes.Tou Shong’s design philosophy is simple: “Designing a medical building that suits the Owner’s needs, the existing campus, and the community – that’s what’s important. We shouldn’t design buildings just for our own egos.”
Wilma Fox – Construction Contract Administrator wfox@asai.us
Wilma’s experience spans a wide range of projects, including healthcare facilities, school remodels / modernization projects, new construction and interior design. She brings to Aspen Street five years of Construction Supervision on several K-12 school projects throughout Northern California. One that she is particularly proud of is Oakdale High School, a $3 million dollar project that came in on time and on budget. ASAi is fortunate to have her expertise. Wilma’s understanding of construction procedures, and interaction with state approval agencies brings her the ability to serve the needs of our school clients.
Bob Bliss – Civil Engineer rbliss@asai.us
Bob’s career began in Calaveras County in 1971, working for a small engineering firm doing the site design for the newly formed Vallecito Union School District’s two new schools. He obtained his Civil Engineering license in 1975 and joined Aspen Street Architects six years ago as our in-house civil engineer. He provides in-house and field civil engineering for project site design, grading, and utilities.
Nate Morgan – Project Architect nmorgan@asai.us
Nathan brings to Aspen Street Architects a sound understanding of the importance of project management through open and effective communications. Throughout his military career, he was responsible for the successful completion of numerous construction projects from pier and infrastructure recapitalization projects to industrial and recreational facilities. He was also responsible for managing facility planning and design budgets for various bases, and before leaving the military he was an integral part of training federal contracting personnel in design and construction contracting. After moving into the private sector, Nathan has taken the opportunity to become involved in affordable healthcare design for rural areas. His work has included ambulatory surgical centers, radiology clinics, acute care hospital additions, and medical/dental clinics. Bryan Hitchcock – Project Manager bhitchcock@asai.us
Bryan joined Aspen Street Architects three years ago, and quickly proved himself to be an asset to our firm. Bryan received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo.
Prior to coming to Aspen Street Architects, Bryan worked for James Wagman Architect in New York City, New York
