POSITION
DESCRIPTION
ARCHITECT
INTERN II
Summary:
Designs routine architectural assignments and is
responsible for portions of a project assigned by licensed architects; applies
standard architectural practices, techniques and principles. Exercise of
judgment is required on details of work. Capable of independent representation
of firm, in the field, during construction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (It is not the
intent for this to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities
associated with this position.)

Responsible for meeting quality and quantity goals for
portions of projects assigned by licensed architects;

Learns and develops new skills while assisting
experienced architects with projects;

Receives minimal supervision on new aspects of
assignments;

Develops routine designs and/or technical solutions;

Develops construction documents;

Assists with presentations, proposals and/or report
preparation;

Effectively utilizes computer assisted design software
programs, preferably AutoCad, as an aid in developing architectural projects;

Performs other duties as requested.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or
university and sufficient experience to be found eligible to sit for
State architectural licensing examinations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must possess current driver's license

Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in an office setting with
minimal health and safety hazards. Noise level and temperature are moderate.
Minimal lifting or climbing is required. Some travel such as, but not limited
to, other offices, work sites, seminars, and business related errands is
required; may require employee to drive, or fly, including use of company
aircraft. Requires operating office machines such as, but not limited to,
computers, copiers, phone and fax.
Communication Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operations,
safety, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively develop and write routine
correspondence such as letters, memos and transmittals; ability to present
information in one-on-one and small group situations to internal and/or external
clients of the firm. Capable of representing firm in marketing and/or
construction meeting environments.
Reasoning Ability and/or Critical Thinking:
Work situations require consideration and interpretation of
circumstances or information to choose the most effective response. Solutions
may be technical yet relatively straightforward and well defined once problems
are understood. Pursuit of solutions, through research, is expected.
