Design work at Parkview includes Master Planning for 193 bed Hospital Phased Replacement and implementation. Since early 2009 ASAi has been helping Parkview secure HUD funding for among other things, building a new 17,000 square foot emergency department, a 5,000 square foot new Central Utility Plant, and numerous interior renovation projects (a 5,000 square foot renovation of existing space into a GI Lab, a 4,000 square foot renovation of their central sterile and new operating suite addition, a 2,000 square foot new well baby nursery and modifications to their birthing recovery wing, and a 2,500 square foot NICU expansion). These Phase I projects combined are in excess of $45 million.
ASAi developed performance specifications and schematic designs for the new ED and Central Utility Plant. ASAi is working with the hospital to prequalify general contractors and will be leading an integrated design development process with various specialty contractors to finalize designs. ASAi has been actively meeting with local and state regulatory officials in developing the delivery process and fine tune the review and approval process.
The interior renovation projects, specifically the Nursery and NICU renovations are in final design stages. ASAi and our team of consultants have investigated the existing structure and systems (dating back to the original hospital construction in 1959), and developed plans that meet current code, provide the most efficient and usable space taking into account operational flows, patient flow and security, and visitor interaction, and that meet budgetary constraints of the master program.
