ASAi has been involved with several projects for Mendocino Coast District Hospital (one of the 13 members of the rural health design consortium which ASAi was the architect). Two ongoing projects (a 2,000 square foot interior renovation project which will create a larger, new pharmacy space, and a second, a new building addition creating an 8,000 square foot diagnostic imaging specialty building) show the range of Aspen Street Architects’ capabilities.
The Pharmacy remodel has been successfully bid and the work will be done by Euro Style Management from North Highlands, Ca.
For the new construction Radiology project, ASAi worked with hospital staff and equipment vendors to develop a compact, efficient and contextually appropriate facility greatly increasing radiology service capacities in the region. Although the site is located in an environmental sensitive area, ASAi was able to achieve coastal commission approval within the time frame required to keep the project on track. Using a unique project delivery method, ASAi completed the schematic design to fit a component methodology and also created performance specifications for bidding by manufacturers and general contractors. ASAi is currently acting as the owner’s representative managing the final product and smoothing the process between the Owner and the Contractor. Project construction costs are $4,090,000.
